That's most definitely true, but if my job required me to spend time in the company of Des and Paula, and either one of them suddenly announced they didn't want that to happen any more, I wouldn't be looking that particular gift horse in the mouth.
I certainly wouldn't be questioning the validity of the banning. I'd just be thanking my lucky stars I didn't have to waste any more time trying to have something approaching a reasonable conversation with them.
