For a faceless troll, ILAD sure has Ian on the ropes. Lovely to see.

Glen Durrant: Best newcomer, top of the PL, top 5 player in the world.

Danny Noppert: Top 32, will perhaps crack the PDC's top 16.

Jeff Smith: Made the final of a PC event today.

Scott Mitchell: Top of the CT.

The point is that the BDO's top players between 2015-2018 have now added depth to the PDC at a time when the standard has slipped in the PDC and their youth system is underperforming. It is therefore clear that the PDC benefits from the BDO.

Note, this isn't an attack on the PDC. It is just an observation.
Think Jeff Smith only actually did well in the BDO after realising he could compete against the Europeans after playing PDC first time round

Think junior/ youth darts on both side of the divide has struggled. EDO performances aren’t exactly groundbreaking recently.

However with the improved professionalism of the top players further down the rankings less youngsters will be able to break through quicker.

I don't even think it's that - there is no reason why darts will ever be a young man or woman's game, when so much of it is about mental 'fitness'. With a few notable exceptions (Bristow, van Gerwen, Lewis), young players have never held sway for any length of time. And that is one of the things that makes darts different.

Proof?

I don't believe Ian would say that. From what I hear about him on the circuit he is a very honest bloke. Both on and off the oche.

Ian up early trolling today, no doubt hungover from yesterday’s valiant defeat at county.
