Things said about Duzza, pre-switch

Post by Rout »

From a variety of TSOD regulars.
I delighted that durrant is not switching.
I personally have always wanted him to stay in the bdo, I would hate to see him in the PDC
Reasons being ,
1. He simply is not good enough
2. Mentally fragile
3. Is boring to watch, another Justin pipe
4. he would be constantly fined by the DRA, with his comments on social media.
In the PDC, he'd be around 16-20 imo, that's around 180-210k. He'd be reaching some quarterfinals, lots of last 16s in events. If luck avoids him in a big game or two, he loses maximum 5-10k.
I am sure that the way he won this "world championship" convinced Durrant that he is far from good enough to make a top32 or top16 in the PDC at this point.
It is pretty unlikely that he would have made it past round 2 let alone to the finals against the competition he opted to dodge for at least another year.
Im not sure he could deal with lots more losses and maybe only being a 16-24 ranked player in time.
I also dont see him getting much higher than 16 in the world if he moves over as he has possibly
left it a touch late to keep improving at his age. Thats still a decent ranking and will make himself a nice few quid.
wilson ,green, west got to about 30-40 , norris, bunting 16-20, i dont see glen busting top 10.
its ok we all know you are an amateur
Looks like durrant shit himself when the real prospect of pitting his wits against the best in the world came looming on the horizon.
I accept he stayed in the bdo due to financial or whatever reasons he wants to give, thats his choice, but then to go on how he is the #1 in the same breath when he lacks the gonads to pit himself against the real best in the world in the PDC takes some front when he knows and we all know he is not a top player.
Durrant will drift away from prominence like Adams. He is on easy street now.
I honestly think Duzza never actually wanted to join the PDC, or at the very least he was scared of failing at Qschool or on tour.
After watching lakeside this time I cant see him in the top 10 in the PDC
Durrant is way ahead of the current BDO lot but is not at the level that Bunting was achieving prior to his switch.
It would only be utterly hilarious should he not obtain a card.

A bit harsh some of them but some of them not too bad... I always said he'd do well and those posts saying around 10 to 16 may still be accurate..and that is a great achievement

Provisionally with all monies to defend taken off upto after Ally Pally he's sat 9th...so around 10 to 16 may prove very accurate..

Let's be honest. If it had not been for Des Jacklin relaxing the rules, re Lakeside players going to Q School, don't think Glen would have went to Q School in 2019. I am one of Jacklin's biggest critics on here, but that was a very good decision he made, regardless of the motivation behind it.

That being said, Glen scraped through Q School, but was been brilliant in his 1st year, and looks to be going from strength to strength in 2020. Very much on track to finish in the Top 10 at the end of the year, given he has no money to defend.

The geezers will drop by the wayside, and Waites and Durrant will go on with their lives and simply have less of an extra income from darts. There's no big bang coming here, no mass exodus to the PDC.[/qoute]

He was always one of the world's best players.

He just never got credit because he played in the BDO.

Give him credit for obtaining a card at the right time, would have only trousered 23k when he inevitably won in Jan
