Two years ago, me and Sharky started www.doublefinish.com as a place for 606 users to post that did not have 3 minute delays, opened all night and had plenty of other things the old gaff could not offer.

I don't need to tell you what happened recently, as you will all know. I was determined I was gonna give it my best shot to try and fix it and make it better.

Tonight, I have found out that no one involved has any intention of making things better and the defectees have decided they have gone for good. Why? Because of what's been said since they left the site and started a new forum, based almost exactly on this site.

I feel let down by people I consider friends. Some of whom close friends. I spent many an hour on the phone with some of these trying to make sure it didnt come to this and I honestly cannot believe it has.

For all Sharky's faults and for many he deserves criticism (which he has had tenfold), he has been through some pretty personal torment recently and a very bad time. Anyone who thinks thats an acceptable reason for him to be outed from something he alone created and owns, well I don't know how you can make this call. Every moderator who has left this forum I personally campaigned to be a mod and anyone who had reservations I sung their praises. I put my own personal trust in them and I feel very let down and have lost a fair bit of faith in people tonight to be honest in allowing this to be a good enough reason to kill a great forum. When I walked away as admin I really thought the site was in the best hands, how wrong I was.

Being admin of a forum is not a job that requires being in Mensa. When the board is set up and running theres fek all to it. Sharky did not delete the database on here, it just wasnt compatible with the new forum and the same thing happened on darts forum. Other minor mistakes such as porngate, he has done his time and apologised. For him to be scapegoated as the downfall of this and an acceptable reason for friends to stab each other in the back is fekkin bang out of order and the people that have done so have shown no regard for me or my friends and as a result, I have had enough of all this and my posting in the world of the darts forum is nigh as a result.

This place was never designed to make money, or be a money maker. The second money got involved was the moment it started to go downhill. We have been at the mercy of a £3k debt for a long time and thats led to signatures being forged and power struggles on a simple darts forum with a core membership of no more than a few dozen.

The people with half a brain on here have all said the same, what harm could have been done if Sharky was admin as long as he had to get permission before making changes. Which is exactly how things were, and there were no problems then. Thats not enough though is it? Lets wreck a community over 3 years old due to egos and petty squabbles.

Well for me, two forums is worse than no forum. This is not about the people that run it, its about the people that use it. And no one involved in making this happen has given a second thought to the normal genuine members of this once great community and once great site. They have played second fiddle to people thinking about themselves and money first. Thats unacceptable to me, its not why we started and its not what made us the best and busiest darts forum on the internet for two long years, and that chaps why I am walking away.
