Who is the best player in the world?
Who is the best player in the world?
For the first time in years it is not clear who is the best player in the world. So as this is meant to be a darts forum and a pro-PDC forum, let's discuss who the best is.
It is between 3 players for me. Wright is the PDC World Champion, MVG is ranked number 1, and Glenn is top of the premier league and has a 3-0 head to head record against MVG.

One of those 3 won't win a TV title this year..
Re: Who is the best player in the world?
Depends how you interpret the question really. I dont think MVGs blip has been sustained enough to be disregarded. He looked really vulnerable yesterday, but turned on the after burners and took out the defending champ with an impressive display in the end.
Wright is the world champion which is the clearest guide. Price is incredibly consistent. Durrant also.
I would say, MVG still has to be considered the best in the world, Wright in the best form. If Wright outdoes Mvg this year, at some point he may take the mantle. Glen needs tournament wins and Price needs to win without cheating

Amusing how the biggest glorified exbo in darts has suddenly become incredibly important amongst certain posters.......
To return to the question then Rout is correct.
But there are quite a few in the Durrant bracket who would need a couple of major PDC wins to get even close to being number one
I actually think Aspinall , despite losing yesterday is looking the real deal and could be number one in form come the end of the year.

Thinking of one.
Re: Who is the best player in the world?
They make him cry.
And he needs his anonymity, damn it!
Wazza/Ian complaining about trolling is the ultimate irony. So ironic that it could be one of our historic multiples trying to sound like him.
Whoever it is has finally learned to use a VPN.

So you are saying it might not be IFM? Interesting.

Re: Who is the best player in the world?
It's still mvg. Price and wright in better form overall but mvg is the best player in the world.
In a major final, if I was forced at gun point to pick a winner, I wouldn't pick anyone over him.
Having said that, I think he would benefit from a proper break from the game. He's looked more and more beatable for a while and he's only 30. A few months off now to recharge and get the fire/form back could be huge for his overall legacy.
