Des Jacklin resigns
Re: Des Jacklin resigns
So then....has Des tied the BDO into a 10 year deal at an unsustainable venue, or was that a lie?

So theren haven’t been players involved in the running of a darts org before while still playing on tour?? Must have imagined history...
The original defectors and the WDC
I want to mention the LDO here as well but have zero clue who runs it or even if it actually does anything or ever did anything
Re: Des Jacklin resigns
Steve Brown plays on the same tour he runs, does he?
As for the WDC I had it in my head Cox ran it until Hearn came a-knocking.

The joint account is back

The question wasn't the same tour it was running A darts org whilst still playing the tour
Well Dennis Priestly was on the PDC board from shortly after its incorporation in 98 until Hearn took it over in 91 he was definitely still playing then.
All the others were directors of the PDPA which must of had a hand in the early days of the WDC with Tommy and Dick.

Stilll does surely. They arrange financial advice etc for players.el_ringo wrote: ↑Tue Mar 17, 2020 8:59 pmThe question wasn't the same tour it was running A darts org whilst still playing the tour

Re: Des Jacklin resigns
My view it’s one of lr, Chris mason , Dave whitcombe one of those 3 would provide respect from players, most county officials & the general darting world & provide a bridge between both orgs, providing they throw there hats in the ring of course

Re: Des Jacklin resigns
With the board going and the current climate we are living in where does the BDO go from here. We know the WDT has no venue. The home countries have created a company to run the BICC. The BDO doesn’t have the backing of the WDF, the Dutch or the Aussies.
They can’t have meetings to vote anyone into position if anyone wants to take the helm.
The WDF are also diluting the market for them as well.
Is the only option now to close the BDO?

I wouldn't leave Chris Mason in charge of the beer kitty (and Oche would still go and buy his own despite being twenty in).
None of those people have any business background and I'd have thought by now it should be blindingly obvious that's what the organisation needs (even if now their only role may be to appoint administrators).
