It's now totally obvious that Des does indeed suffer from NPD.

Has anyone asked on fanatics what happens now to the Cyprus Open? Assuming international travel is possible then, obvs.

Is it still happening? If so, who runs it? The BDO or Des as a private promoter?

Again, this guy has no concept how the world of travel works.

Unless they have a separate arrangement, which I very much doubt, airlines will have been paid for well in advance. If it is cancelled at the last minute, there is no prospect of getting money back through themselves (they are not ATOL protected I guess) nor would a travel insurance provider recognise them as a bonafide travel company.

Hotels are another thing and can be cancelled usually for free up until 24 hours before.

The money was just resting in my account.

Assuming they arent paying the hotel until just before, who presumably have given the organisers a fixed cost in Turkish Lira (thats is the currency of North Cyprus, yes?), isn't holding on to everyones money for months also a bit of a currency gamble? The hotel arent going to be changing their rate just because its gone up or down against the pound.

And do you honestly think Des is bright enough to understand any of that?

Phew. Me and the missis were planning to buy a new car over the weekend as well looking into selling the house.

Thank God for Des's advice, eh? What a guy!

Sold my place and in the process of buying a new one with the future bride.

Having seen the words of wisdom from Chancellor Des though I'm thinking of scrapping the whole deal and maybe sending the money to a member of the Nigerian royal family who e-mailed me yesterday with an amazing opportunity.
