A very big well done to Ryan Murray who is the first to go through from the Edinburgh heats he beat Alan Norris 3-2 in a great final along the way ryan beat Hugh Allison, Alex Lister, Jim Mitchell and Murray Wood 3-1,3-2.3-1and 3-0 respectively and Alan had beat Joe Batta 3-1 and Ian Gunion 3-2 along the way, can I say a big thanks to the PDC's Gary wood for running the competion and also for sticking to his guns when 5 players who arrived late (1109 for 11am latest registraion) and where disqualified, unfortunately there was the Edinburgh Great run,the Magic rugby weekend and a large festival on (alongside the ongoing tramworks) thus making the traffic a bit more heavy than usual, I do have a bit of sympathy for these lads as they had come through from the west of scotland and paid out for a mini bus, but rules are rules and this would not have been fair on the players who arrived on time (one guy made it by 1min 30 secs). the strangest thing for me was not playing and watching my 2 mates playing (i was the driver) and at times was more nervous for them than if i had been playing. The 2nd qualifier was just starting as we left so i have no results from that but once again well done to Ryan and commiserations to alan .

Re: UK open Edinburgh Qualifier
A few names wrong here and results, it was Michael Wood from Newcastle who beat Hugh Allison and Alex Lister then Ryan Murray beat young Michael i had a good a look over the progress chart at the end and the winner of the second qualifier was John Robertson. A big well done to both lads both played very well to qualify and also well done to Gary Wood the PDC official who dealt with the pressures of having to disqualify a few late players.
