Another 2 players in the final who must wish this was a Players Championship weekend!

if this was a usual players championship event then we'd all be mentioning the likes of Darren johnson, michael smith and ian white as having big weekends in search of the WMP but its typical that there good runs come on a uk open weekend

shame for them and the fans that a great run or win on the uk open qualifier means so much less than a win in the players championships...............a win on the players championships puts you virtually in the WMP and gives you a great shot for the WGP, world championsips and players championship finals even

an example of this is barrie bates...........im not saying he wasnt worthy but he is an example of a player who won 1 event and with that and a year of otherwise nothing spectacular, didnt he make all the majors last year?

Maybe it's because it's UK Open qualifiers that the players come this far. Surely Brown, White, Johnson have a good run. But the UK Open qualifiers are non-seeded. I mean the way to the final is different from an PC. The difference between the difficulty of the boards is also bigger.

have to agree the better players are already qualified so are just playing for the money thats why we see the "upsets" i can't see what all the whinging is about, like i said earlier every player knows the rules and you can pick and choose if you want to play these or no

A good run in this gets you to the later stages of the UK open and more of chance to have a good run.

so the WMP, WGP and world championships could be very likely yet you'd settle for a later round to enter in the UK open even though most players im talking about here will make it their comfrotably anyway

Do the 'big' players take on the UK Opens easier than they would do for a normal players championship?

Meanwhile, Chizzy has won £6000 in just 2 weeks! That's about the same that he won the whole of last year in the BDO wasn't it (excluding GSOD which is a PDC tournament).

A good run in this gets you to the later stages of the UK open and more of chance to have a good run.

No need for the abuse, hes entitled to his view. And the rewards simply dont meet the effort required to win one of these events. If Chisnall wins today he pockets 6k but this will count towards only one event, which has the lowest prize money and is probably the least prestigious among all the 'big' TV majors. There is no reason why these events cant be Players Championship events which count towards ALL the TV tournies, including the UK Open and not just one. Ridiculous situation imo. You could still have the separate UK Open qualifier table and add them to the main PC OOM - that would make it a lot fairer.
