Darts legend Eric Bristow loses pub to bailiffs

Darts legend Eric Bristow has been turfed out of a pub he took on 18 months ago, owing thousands of pounds to the brewery.
The five-times world champion was a silent partner with friend Barry Birch.
Bailiffs arrived after Punch Taverns took them to court over £36,000 in unpaid rent for the Swan Hotel in Leek, Staffordshire.
Birch, who was a doorman at Bristow’s Crafty Cockney nightclub in Stoke, claimed Punch failed to sort out problems. He said: “We didn’t pay because Punch didn’t keep their end of the bargain.”
Bristow, who turned up to collect darts memorabilia, refused to comment.
The brewery said: “The pub will remain open.”
