And shall I bump my post from Feb 2016 that it would be the end of the BDO if Des took over (2 1/2 years before he even did and was not well known...

Re: The future of the BDO and Lakeside - your views
It seems a post on the Real BDO fanatics has found its way onto TSOD forum, and obviously it is a load of shite, fair play everyone is entitled to their opinion. In the real world, the world of actually negotiating prize monies of over £100,000, of attending meetings and creating extensive tender documents for bidding for the events, events which help secure jobs, for bar staff, hotel staff, holiday centre staff, taxi drivers, food outlets, etc. etc., in fact, The Isle of Man Open is worth over £1,000,000 to the economy of the Island which is an out of season event, not forgetting giving financial rewards to the players and helping to promote the global system. The England Open £5,000 first prize, with £35,000 on offer is to be sniffed at, along with similar pay outs at Dutch, and Welsh Opens Similar can be said about the County system, people can be dismissive about it, but each month thousands of players attend and play in the system, people book hotels, coach companies are used, venues again rely a lot of occasions on this income, which is good income. The standard is very good only last weekend 51 x 180’s at a recent Lancashire v Warwickshire county match, these matches lead to International selection to go around the World, for instance, 56 Countries took part in the WDF World Cup in Romania, I don’t think the 1000+ competitors representing, Mens, Ladies, Boys and Girls events think that trying to sort out the system they ply their trade-in, is shite. Of course, serious players would much prefer to pop down to the Dog & Duck Saturday afternoon for a couple of hundred quid, this is definitely a better preparation for a career at the top level than playing on stage in front of a few hundred players, how did I miss this gem of wisdom!!!
However I would agree all this is meaningless because I talk a load of shite, but at least the load of shite I talk is based on actually contributing to the sport of darts for over 40 years, actually organising and running events, sourcing venues and prize monies, and contributing to many players and managers livelihoods.
have a nice day.

Said it before, they need a Frank Warren or Kelly Maloney or someone similar.
Offer them 3 years commission based which increases if profits do also.
Someone with no ties already, hidden agenda who can look at it from a fresh viewpoint, be honest about what is or isn't possible.

Thinking of one.
