The more I watch Adrian Lewis the more I think he is retarded.
Great player though.

A Youth World cup running along side with the later stages televised would be a quality addition.

No need for any code restriction either as both say they don't wish to restrict young players.

Hate the pairs part, make it 3 in a team with a capt and each game 1st to 7 legs.
Thinking of one.

Everyone. That tournament was a write off from the start. There was no doubt about it that England would win this. Giving guys as good as Taylor and Lewis that many chances even with their current ability against much poorer teams pretty much guarantees an uncompetitive tournament. The fluke match from last year against Spain sadly ensures the tournament stays.

Whatever a format for a WCup you would say England are faves. Look at the OOM they dominate the top 20

was this there opinion or did they genuinly know? to me it looked like nicholson threw something off the stage, i base this opinion on the fact that lewis is poinitng of the stage whilst explaining to taylor about nicholson, the when lewis has a go at nicholson whilst whitlock is in the middle of them whitlock shakes his head to lewis and it looks like he says something like 'no it went on the floor' i could be completly wrong of course. did u also see lewis and taylor smirking at nicholson whilst they were stood behind him whilst nicholson was speaking with dave clark?

I don't know if i am in the minority but i really enjoyed the world cup of darts. I thought is was quite good. Playing for your country semed to matter to most teams esp Austraila and Wales. The tension at the end was brilliant. It has been a great event for Devon Peterson (don't let the miscount take away from the fact he played very well and seems to be growing in confidence). There seemed to be a good crowd and atmosphere. I wanted Whitlock and Nico to win: so i guess the nationalistic side of this has not gripped me yet: i wanted England to lose. This doubles event brings much needed variety to our sport.

I would like to see it it every year, travel around the world a bit (why not in Aussie) though (if possible) have 3 men teams.

I enjoyed it but the format is terrible i think3in a team a better idea play round robin singles even if best of5,it would i suppose give big countries a bigger advantage with more depth but also show some new faces in preliminary round

The semifinal/final format works pretty well, I think, certainly much better than the 2 singles/1 double from the earlier rounds...could be worth a thought to have the doubles game in the middle of the four singles, but I think they don't want to pull two players in cold if there's a need for the sudden-death after the last match (which would be a single then), and they probably feel it's more worthwhile for their audience appeal to lose the doubles from the schedule if one team runs out to a 4-0 than lose two singles.

Anyway, the biggest issue is probably that applying the longer format all the way from the last 16 would extend this tournament by at least 2 days. Dunno if it's anywhere near established enough to work as a 5-day event...

One thing's for sure though - this version of the World Cup will never focus mainly on doubles matches, so it's a bit pointless for people to wish the PDC would go that way. If an untelevised World Cup with lots of pairs action floats your boat, the other one has you well-covered; I'm pretty sure the PDC will want to keep theirs sufficiently interesting for those watching, and with the way the typical PDC audience has been conditioned that means mostly singles matches.

the format needs tweeking i would make round 1 24 players in 8 groups of 3 pairs best of 9 legs top 8 seed in each group winners of group going thru the play the quaters best of 17 pairs with the semis and final like it was now 5 games best of 9 then 5 game best of 13

Is there not scope for a 3 player team event? You could then have all players in a singles event (best of 7 legs up to quarters, then best of 9 qf, best of 11 sf and best of 13 final. Then a pairs event featuring 2 of 3 players with the same format. Finally a team event with matches best of 7 sets throughout - the 3 players play 2 sets each in order if required (best of 5 legs to a set) then the captain has to pick a player to the final set if required. Alternatively, play best of 13 leg matches throughout - a player plays 4 legs each if required in order and again captain picks a player to play deciding leg if required.

Would like it to revert to just 16 teams and a Davis Cup style format.

sounds ok...but how do you sort a format out ?..Davis Cup tends to either have 2 players each playing singles and then teaming up for the doubles...or 2 singles players and a specialist doubles team....they are not going to have a specialist doubles teams in darts.
3 man teams ?....how would that work ?...3 lots of singles ?...so where does the doubles fit in then under that format...2 singles and a doubles ?...then who misses out in playing ?
it is tricky one but i think the format is ok and allows everybody to contribute...not sure i can think of a better one to ensure every game counts and all players contribute
