Board same size. Areas same size. Divisions between them are thinner.ifm wrote:Erm no it isn't, Unicorn are openly admitting to "increasing" the size of doubles and trebles Ha!!
You could always get darts into those parts of treble that appear to be "revealed", it just required a different trajectory.
Strong thin wires can now be manufactured, the biggest difference these give is not the perceived change in treble size, but the massive reduction in "bounce-outs" which no-one really wants to see.
Are you really suggesting advances in technology should be kept from the game?
Should golfers go back to wooden shafts and club heads? Or old feather filled golf-balls?
Small wooden framed tennis rackets re-introduced?
Hi-tech running shoes and football boots banned?
Old style bikes with no aero-dynamics and few gears for the Tour de France.
Sports equipment has always changed with technology. Deal with it and stop using it as a feeble attempt to point-score against the PDC. You're fooling no-one.

Yeah I know they had a 'Grand Slam' motif,
My question was who made them?

I know technology has made the difference in averages, that was the whole point derr.

Re: TV Averages +105
Fair point Sly but it's easy to take one year out of context, lets have the facts on the following years where the amount hit really took off, the majority of these where hit on Unicorn boards................how do you explain that?slymaster wrote:Facts?!Paddy McGinty wrote:Well how do you explain the sudden improvement? strange it coincides with the introduction of the the new Unicorn board. These are comments made on fact, not trolling. And Zeye's argument doesn't really stack up, if you ignore the "new recruits" Taylor's tally definitely takes a dramatic turn for the better around this time.Ginge wrote:I'll remember this thread when either Ecky, IFM or Paddy moan about "BDO trolling".
It's not rocket science is it.
paDDs
2006 / 10x ......5x Taylor
6 out of 10 averages aint coming from Unicorn.
5x IDL
1x WDT

Re: TV Averages +105
Several factors imo.
New tournaments (PL, EDC, GSODs, PCF...), Premier League = additional 59 matches (now 76 matches), GSODs = 63 matches etc....
Pro Tour heating up -2005 = 15 tournaments....2008= 36 Pro Tour tournaments
Taylor going nuts -especially 2008-2009
Switchers/Traitors
Better set up
Better equipment -including boards!
More money
2008
18 out of 27 coming from new tournaments -compared to 2005 (2004) and before
2009
19 out of 30 coming from new tournaments.....
BDO/WDF
2006: 6 out of 10 coming from the BDO/WDF
2007: 8 out of 22 coming from the BDO/WDF, 4x Anderson
2008: 1 out of 27 coming from the BDO/WDF
2009: nada / 30
2010: nada / 25
Losing players and major tournaments didnt really help.

Re: TV Averages +105
wonder if paddy will be along shortly to claim the only difference between the pdc and the bdo is phil taylor like others have done in the past
He has already blamed the boards, might as well go to full retard status level 5

Re: TV Averages +105
Last night when after 2 sets Taylor looked like smashing the WGP average record, Jacques Niewlaat mentioned on RTL5 that that particular record is owned by Alan Warriner Little as he threw a 106 + at the 2001 WGP.
I can't see that average in Sly's stats. Normally, Jacques is as flawless as Little Richard when such data are involved, so maybe someone can confirm AWL's record and if so, Sly can adopt it as yet in the stats?
