Can anyone give me the lowdown on this player, he is down as Welsh on DD so where is he from etc? he seems to be looking like a very good prospect.

He`s 25-26 from Tipton ,no welsh accent .All i know of him recently is that in the last month he has qualified for Bolton ,made the semis of the Warwickshire Invitational ,last 8 of the Welsh Open , final of the Grosvenor Grand Prix event and won today at Bicester.

I have seen and watched a lot of good players over the last few years and Jamie is up there with the best i have seen on current form ,great temperment too

Plays for west midlands, was the player who was timed out against Andy boulton 1 match from lakeside last year.
Watched him at warks and was mightily impressed by his play , watched 1 game where he hit 5x180's a 177 and a 171 unfortunately it was against Deta who had played really quite well ! Jamie won 5/0 .

Perhaps he is not Welsh then? Darts database has got him shooting up the Wales ranking table though :)

He's now above Barrie Bates in their ranking system?

Also Welsh on wiki UK Open info?

That will have come from his county registration form i'd guess.

Cant stress just how good this guy is going to be!! - I said that Scott Rand was going to be a top player and a few people doubted my words but Jamie is up there with him

Think you were sitting next to someone yesterday who was saying the same thing pal ;)

Jamie is going to be as good as he wants to be ,he is only 25-26 and is utterly fearless and cool under pressure .He has the scoring power and the finishing ability to take him to the top ,also he is a lovely un-assuming lad too

Jamie is 26 btw and played Warwickshire A when he was 20.

As Welshwizard79 said Jamie is absolute quality, played against him in the final of the blind pairs at Yarmouth and this guy could go all the way if he wants it enough, scoring is awesome and his temprament is perfect, glad i'm not playing him at Bolton first round ...lol

Just to add my comments to the Jamie fan club :).

I first met him at the invitational a couple of weeks back and was mightily impressed. I did manage to beat him 5-2 in our encounter in the group although it was a very good game. He went on to get his revenge by beating me 5-2 in the quarter finals the same day where his scoring was very heavy. After losing at the casino event on Sunday i got to watch him quite a bit and he has a very smooth and solid looking throw that looks like it will not crumble when put under pressure.

And a nice guy too, don't you just hate that :).

Well it certainly sounds like he's got a bright future. Shame no one could verify his Welsh connection :? :?

I guess I'll find out on Thursday when hopefully he will have a little Welsh flag next to his name ;)
