UK OPEN - DISCUSSION

Post by Booji Boy »

Well folks its almost upon us and silly season is almost over.

The UK Open Starts tomorrow night and we can all get back to discussing the important things in life, like darts, beer, walk on girls etc etc.

I will be hoping for great things from all the Scottish players and players associated with this place.

God Bless the Darts!!!!!!

Last year was my first UK Open, and the Thursday evening session was the most unique I've been to. The crowd mixing with the seeded players and guests who are all mingling and watching the games. Friday is almost as good, you just get less players on the floor with everyone left in the tourney involved in matches. Far more relaxed than when you just have a big stage game - I didn't even watch the TV games, more fun being up close to the outer games.

This is a fantastic event, probably one of the best, i get to see all the best such as Tony West, who i really think can give this tournament a real go. I love the format and I love there are always a few shocks on the way to the finals, i really think Woods will do something at the evnt this year even though his draw is hard I think he can make it far. Then there is Chisnall, I couldn't go on without talking about him, I hope he reaches the final, but I have a funny feeling he is going to turn up on Friday night and fire in a 110 averege and win comfortably but turn up the subsequent night and hit a 84 averge, but lets hope not. Chizzyesque.

I agree Chizzyfan it is a great event and there are always some shocks. Yea I can see Tony West doing well but I hope James Hubbard steps up and delivers. I hope Whitlock will do something special but as always Taylor is there he is always the favourite.

It will be interesting how much sky promote hankey. If he makes it through tomorrow night it will make the open that little bit more exciting.

Massive event for Nicholson, he needs a good run. Come on Paul!!

I have to say I really looking forward to the UK OPEN and hope Ando can recover his form. Gary is using his new Scallop barrels from Unicorn which means he can grip his darts better. He said in today's Scottish Sun" Before my fingers balanced on the barrel, now they actually grip and the control has been great in practise. We'll soon find out whether they work just as good on the big stage".
I think it will be back to business as usual with 180's for fun now Ando has a set up with his darts he is comfortable with.
