Had some girl on Twitter the other day day she wanted to stay in the EU because she was LGBT and the EU is the only way to guarantee her rights, I pointed out to her that in 21 of the 28 EU states LGBT people are not allowed to marry, not allowed to enter into a civil partnership and not allowed to adopt children.

Thick as a brick and brainwashed beyond belief.

Oh dear Boris!
Ridiculous decision by the court, what they have just done is to rip up hundreds of years of separation of judiciary and executive and paved the way for any and every piece of legislation brought in by governments present and future, to be subject to legal challenge in the courts.

The people currently rejoicing at this verdict will rue it because they have taken the power of government away from the electorate and given it to rich activists that can afford to take legal action against anything they do not agree with, potentially tying the hands of any government in months of litigation whilst appeals and more appeals take place.
Think that sounds extreme? well if every executive decision made under the royal perogative or executive power can be legally challenged and adjudged to be unlawful then it leaves the Gov with no power to act quickly on any matter, the bail out of British Steel for example, if that were to happen now it could be challenged in the courts by a rival steel company or shareholder thereof and, if found to be unlawful or more importantly the motives of which (as in the prorogue case) are judged to be politically motivated then they can get that decision to bail them out drawn through the courts for months and possibly overturned or declared unlawful.

You apply this to contracts the Gov awards and decisions made by Govs, including Scots and Welsh, and the potential of a future of months of litigation on every matter is now a reality.
In future judges will almost certainly now be appointed by their political persuasions as we head to a USA style Gov v Judiciary battle on almost every matter.

It is. We are going to turn into America. Very sad that we have politicised the supreme court, which itself is only 20 odd years old thanks to lefties ruining the Lords and starting to dismantle a system that has worked for 400 years. Now they have taken the second step.

It's no coincidence that the case was brought by Gina Miller who's funded in part by the EU, John Major who forced Maastricht through the commons and the SNP who want to stay in the EU because it would make their case for independence stronger, if anyone thinks this was anything to do with the constitution or the superiority of parliament then they are fools, this was all to do with stopping the UK leaving the EU by people who will do anything to get their way.

The ripping up of the UK constitution based around hundreds of years of convention and precedent by them and John Bercow will lead to decades of chaos and ultimately a written constitution which will be skewed in favour of whichever party happens to be in power when it is drafted.

Bercow's throwing away of house of commons procedure and precedent will allow any government with a majority to use a standing order motion to force through any piece of legislation, however biased or politically motivated, in a day and without scrutiny from committee.
