Meanwhile, another member of the "religion of peace" struck again in London yesterday. Thank goodness he was killed before he could do any more damage. Well done Londoners for voting in an Islamic mayor who will never go against his "Muslim brothers and sisters", no matter how many atrocities they commit.
Do you mean apart from almost always voting in favour of equal gay rights as an MP, and constantly speaking at pride events, and other events of that nature? All things that have previously led to him receiving threats from Muslims.

I'm not going to pretend he's a good mayor. He's been largely hopeless, especially on crime. But he's merely another ineffectual centrist hack, career politician. To kind of imply in a nudge nudge, wink wink way that he supports Islamist attacks just because he is a Muslim is a bit out of line.

I haven't read the whole thread, but I'm assuming nobody has Ian. My point was simply that it isn't ignorant to call something racist if it is Indeed racist.

I'm not saying he's supporting them, but I don't exactly have faith in his ability or will to stop them either. But fair points. A Muslim being seen in any way to support homosexuality is taking a big risk within his own community.

I notice that Rout changed tact immediately after his previous arguments were destroyed. Nikkiboy explaining that slavery has been going on a lot longer than most people would have us believe and me explaining why Islam is a major problem (based on scientific polls, not Owen Jones or the Grauniad).

Islam seems to be where Christianity was at the time of the Crusades. And the Crusades weren't even completely unjustified or unprovoked. How did part of Spain become Islamic in the first place? :) Why do we see the prefix Al- before many Spanish surnames and place names? Answers on a postcard.

Now it's about Boris choosing which media outlets to deal with, which I think is actually a fair point. It's difficult to listen to ill-informed shit from The Mirror and The Guardian, but it's part of his job. Although he's not the first leader to be selective with the media and won't be the last, this is still poor form. He's answerable to those left, right and centre.

I love that Rout thinks Peston and Kuenssberg are his biggest fans btw. Poor Laura Kuenssberg has been attacked from pillar to post by those who would claim to be left-leaning liberal supporters of women, yet subjected her to the most vile abuse and hatred. Just because she dared to question Jeremy Corbyn's vision for Britain's future. Laura is great, one of the best in the business and VERY well educated.

Apparently if you question Jezza and his umm "wisdom" (how thick do you have to be to gain two "E" grades at A-level? Seriously, I'm asking because I know people who did slightly better than that and they barely turned up for class!), you're biased and want the country run by Disraeli, Churchill and Thatcher (which wouldn't be a bad thing actually, but you get the picture).

The BBC is the media outlet I use the most, and it's pretty centrist. In fact, reading stories from people who have worked there, the vast majority of staff support Labour (judging by the number of unopened champagne bottles after the 1992 General Election) but I've generally found them to be fair. Funny how it's the left who suddenly find them unfair because they dare to criticise JErEmy and his acolytes.

The funniest thing about the arguments of the socialists on here ("you must be rich to vote Conservative or a turkey voting for Xmas") is that middle-income earners (like most of us, I'd imagine) are actually slightly better off under the Conservatives than Labour or the Lib Dems. So the Tories aren't just a party for the rich. Average salary of £35,000 gross would be more under Conservatives than either Labour or Lib Dems. Not by a great deal but enough to prove that there is every reason for people like me to vote Conservative, esp as their policies seem workable too. The Conservatives (and their alliance with the Lib Dems) have taken the personal allowance up to £12,500 a year! That's way more than it was under Labour.

Still, those of you who are still in doubt, try moving to Venezuela right now! Socialist paradise. So good that people are emigrating to fooking COLOMBIA of all places for a better life.

Haha, bad habit of mine I know. When I was in school, I hated essays because I could never find enough information to cover the 2000 words (wasn't exactly a hard working student) so I'd end up writing everything I knew on the subject.

In Uni, I hated them because I couldn't keep my rantings BELOW 2,000 words :D

Well done, Nick btw. You've taken these people to school.

There are so many myths that people just blindly swallow. Like women earning about 3/4 of what men do. Firstly, that doesn't take into account that we're not talking about the same job. Secondly, many more women (at the time of the study) were in part time work, etc.

Then you have the laughable notion of the "patriarchy", which was especially amusing when the head of state and PM were both ummm female.

Of course, the irony of people agreeing with feminism while defending Islam isn't lost on me.

Critical thinking should be taught in all schools so we don't get threads full of idiocy like this. Mind you, maths is compulsory until GCSE level and we still get crap like this.
This is the issue - the lack of existence of white male privilege is largely argued by white males who have clearly wasted that privilege and see people from other races or genders doing better than them and assume therefore that it doesn't exist.

It does. If you see black people or women in high office and claim that is evidence the white male privilege is a myth, rest assured that those people are much cleverer than you (and me) and have had to work much harder to achieve the same as their white male peers.

And if you are a straight white male, who feels like the world is against you because small steps have been taken to redress hundreds of years of systematic prejudice, then you deserve to be on the dole or twatting about in a call centre for 8 quid an hour as you're clearly a fekkin idiot.
Interesting how you mentioned hundreds of years of systematic prejudice, as if it didn't exist before then. Although people do have a habit of focusing on the Atlantic slave trade and the European empires. The Ottoman Empire gets very little mention, not withstanding the countless empires before that subjugated/wiped out other civilizations. Human history goes back much further than Vasco da Gama and Hernan Cortez, etc. Plenty of things could be "redressed" (but won't be).

What isn't quite so interesting, is why you responded to my post in such a manner. Did you actually read it? What's happened to you? Did you have an operation to remove half of your brain? I did not make a single claim about black people in high office. Although I certainly would need to see more evidence of white privilege before subscribing to your belief.

The only black person I can think of in high(ish) office who is considerably dumber than me is Diane Abbott, but that hardly makes me unique.
Did a lot of study years ago about the Barbary slave trade and the effect upon the middle east and western culture.
People quickly forget that whole villages in Ireland, Cornwall and Wales were captured and sold as slaves in North African markets, some lucky ones were bought back by christians or European States but whole populations of Spain, Italy, France and other European nations were herded up and sold to the point where what was left were empty towns and villages.
Anglo-Dutch sea power eventually stopped the trade in Europeans but the slavers continued to trade in west and sub saharan Africans as they had done for over 1000 years.
It would shock some but when the ottoman empire collapsed and was essentially carved up by European powers they found working slave markets, still selling people in the 20th century.
Great post, there's a lot there that I didn't know.

I have always wondered how so many countries in western Africa became Islamic. ;)

I moved to Brum in 85. Was still in Crewe in 83.
And lived in Selly Park, not Harborne.
Keep trying. :D

How is it a shit post? Of course I have no remorse. I have never owned or transported any slaves.

I'm just trying to explain how the world has always worked. Whoever had the most power at the time, whether it be the Muslims, Europeans or Americans have abused that power and subjugated others.

But I'll confess, I have no shame about slavery. I'd be more ashamed if we were so weak and technologically backwards that we were enslaved by others ;)

Sorry, but that's the response your comments deserve. Your stupidity isn't limited to darts alone, it seems.
