So far its all been trolling on the darts stuff.
No it hasn't, I've just said what I thought.

and I think its a load of shite what your posting here, works both ways
Well you would do, if you attempted any exercise you'd probably need a triple bypass just to recover from it. I can't believe the grief I've gotten across the forums for trying to make darts players and fans healthier and overall more... What's the word? Ah yes, buff.

Give Robert Wagner a shout, he may well be interested.

Excellent, I hope he sees this thread then I'm sure he'll give me his full support unlike the more rotund posters on here.

Calling me fluff is a poor retort really and shows you have nothing else. I would not still be posting if I was fluff. Good work on cHoRtle though.

IMO doing weights could completely fuck up your throw.

I see where you're coming from, if you do them stupidly and just do bicep curls and bench presses like most newbies do then yes, it will knacker your throw. But if you balance all the muscles properly and don't start too heavy so as not to lose muscle memory and keep throwing daily, I believe it can actually help, as it will keep the whole arm healthy, tendons, ligaments etc. And will prevent any elbow and shoulder issues that darts players who play a lot often experience. I genuinely believe weightlifting has made me a better darts player, I used to suffer from elbow problems and had to stop throwing for a while, this is no longer the case since I've buffed up to an incredible physique.

The Bodybuilding Thread

Post by TheFlash »

Cricketers used to be fat, unathletic and more akin to what darts players are now. The Aussies implemented boot camps and emphasised fitness which helped them dominate for a decade while everyone else played catch up. I believe a similar scenario will happen in darts, the fat players will fade out and will be replaced by healthier, more physically pleasing types.

Did Arron Monk have to change his when he started?

I know a few people who play that go to the gym and lift quite regularly, doesn't seem to affect them much.
Do I know any jokes about Sodium Hypobromite?

There will not be any body builders dominating darts ever. Thats a fact.

Less fat players maybe.

I wouldn't be so sure Col, see the lad who won the youth tour yesterday? Looks like a budding young bodybuilder to me...

So we'll both be lifting metal, great. Darts and weightlifting have a lot in common.

Overhead presses today mixed in with bicep curls, had my mate who's a PT with me so employed the 'drop set' technique, wouldn't recommend for you inferior and inexperienced weightlifters though.
