It's that time of the year again.

For me the Mosconi Cup signals the start of the Christmas season.

Brings back huge memories for me, from Alex Higgins, Jimmy White and Steve Davis playing in the early years, to Earl Strickland acting the prick on a yearly basis, to Scotsma Jayson Shaw playing great in recent years.

Noticed the orange 5 ball has changed to a lilac colour and the 9 ball has also changed.

Getting earlier and earlier. First event took place from 15th-18th December and last year was 4th-7th December.

Always find it amusing when the commentators try to suggest big standard run outs have difficult positional shots.

I am equally as shit at pool as I am at darts, but even I could get position on some of the shots being described as difficult.

Kazakiz making a huge mistake to gift van Boening that 2nd leg in the final match of the night.

5-4 to Europe going into that last match of the evening, but at 1-1, Shane looking a big favourite to square it 5-5 overnight.

It's looking like Filler and Shaw versus the 5 Americans.

Niels Feijen has historically been one of the strongest players in the Mosconi Cup, but have to say this year, looks like a completely spent force, and if Europe are to have any chance of getting back into this need big wins for Fuller in the singles and Shaw in the last doubles. Best Europe can hope for is 8-7 deficit going into the last day.

Just as I post Skyler misses a sitter on the 9 ball to gift Niels the frame and change a 3-0 lead in the match to a 2-1 one.

Woodward misses another sitter to go 3-2 behind.

The whole dynamic of this Mosconi Cup has changed following Skyler's 2 big errors and if Feijen should go on to win this match, when he should easily be 4-1 down, the momentum returns to Europe following them losing a 5-3 lead to a 6-5 deficit.

This starts on Tuesday. Placeholder for people wishing Earl Strickland and Steve Davis were still in it
