The Rugby Thread...
Tonight 11June at Eden Park, Auckland NZ, The All Blacks v Wales.
While Wales has improved over the years, helped by having a NZ coach, I doubt there is enough natural talent to overcome the All Blacks. The All Blacks will be rusty, having not played since the World Cup victory, so perhaps Wales stand a chance in this first test as the new caps and combinations of the All Blacks are untied and untested. Although with only one Jones boy and only two Davies, Wales appear to be at least one Davies and a couple of Jones boys short of a win here.

Re: The Rugby Thread...
The Chiefs have handed Wales an absolute Arse Kicking Tuesday night, thrashing the hapless Welsh outfit 40-7 in Hamilton.
The home side had limited attacking opportunities, but still conjured up six tries to one. Former All Black five-eighth Stephen Donald created one try, almost scored another and landed all four of his conversion attempts before going off late to a big ovation. The Chiefs had 20 players unavailable because of injury or international duty, including eight away with the All Blacks. Donald, handed the captaincy in the absence of regular co-skippers Sam Cane and Aaron Cruden, who are with the Test squad, was delighted with his side's performance. Wales had 10 players backing up from their first Test defeat to the All Blacks, including skipper Sam Warburton. Wales had the lion's share of possession and territory, and constantly turned down penalty shots at goal, but they struggled to find the cutting edge against a resilient defence.
Wales have four days to recover before Saturday's second Test in Wellington. Where it is likely they will be thrashed by even more. Look for the All Blacks to win by 50 points or more....its going to be a blood bath!

Re: The Rugby Thread...
All Blacks hammer Wallabies 42-8 in the Rugby Championship opener. The Wannabies were absolutely hopeless and were destroyed on the field as their fans were off. Australia is sore and hurting this morning and a lot humiliated. Convicts all around New Zealand have gone into hiding rather than having to talk about rugby today.
42 - 8 mate, read it, 42 - 8
Australia have now won just one of their last 14 encounters with the mighty All Blacks, and have not held the Bledisloe Cup since 2002.

All Blacks crack 50 against the Pussy's
The All Blacks gave Argentina an arse kicking on Saturday night, sending the pussy cats home with a 57-22 thrashing to remember, coach Steve Hansen warned them not to come to New Zealand thinking they can win, its impossible and can be left in their dreams.
Hansen said New Zealand's rivals, including the British and Irish Lions who tour next year, will have taken careful note of the arse kicking handed out and they should be prepared for a similar display.
Visiting captain Agustin Creevy also said the Pumas, who have never beaten the All Blacks, played like pussy's and would be best if they had stayed in the changing room and lapped up a saucer or 2 of warm milk.
The All Blacks' upcoming schedule includes Tests against South Africa this month, followed by a northern hemisphere tour and then the Lions' visit next year.

The All Blacks crushed the South Africans with a 41-13 demolition of the Boks last night.
The All Blacks go yet further ahead into Rugby immortality history, the gap between the All Blacks and second is vast. Who is second? ....who cares.

Re: The Rugby Thread...
Hot off the press -
"The New Zealand All Blacks equalled their own record of 17 test wins in a row as they claimed their biggest victory over old foes South Africa on Saturday, a crushing 57-15 triumph in the Rugby Championship at King's Park.
Even with Toilet Shagger Smith, the All Blacks had enough depth to hand out an arse kicking to the SAFFA's.
The Springboks are said to still be at King's Park the morning after still looking for the try line.
The World Champion All Blacks completed a clean sweep of six wins in this year's southern hemisphere championship. No one even came close, really, not even close. The IRB are considering handicapping the All Blacks by making them field only 11 players in the future to give other teams a chance."

All Blacks v Wannabies tonight at the fortress that is Eden Park.
The Wannabies have little hope, best they can hope for is not to be beaten by 50 points or more by the World Champions.

Re: The Rugby Thread...
From the press today "In an extraordinary rant after Australia's 37-10 loss at Eden Park, the Australian coach Cheika was upset at not receiving a direct invitation into the triumphant dressing room after the All Blacks chalked up an unprecedented 18th consecutive tier-one test match win.
But Cheika's biggest gripe was a New Zealand Herald cartoon depicting him as a clown in Wallabies' uniform.
"They dressed us up as clowns today. They put our crest on it, so they wouldn't want our comment (about the record)," Cheika snapped.
Cheika eventually congratulated the All Blacks for their "outstanding" accomplishment before Wallabies captain Stephen Moore intervened to savage the newspaper, saying he was deeply offended.
Cheika and Moore were later seen crying together, drying each others eyes with hanky's and blubbering nonsensical talk about how they wished they could be All Blacks and not clowns, and winning games, oh why, oh why, why is it just a dream. Followed by more crying. "

Think this record could be extended to a level, which might never be repeated. Can'T see any team getting close to giving the All Blacks a game before or during the next World Cup.

This is what makes Rugby such an unwatchable sport for me. Its got to be bottom (or top, whichever way you look at it) of the list in terms of the number of shocks that occur. The best team nearly always wins. Sport is no fun when its very predictable.

Re: The Rugby Thread...
I disagree entirely. Watching a team playing at their very best at skill levels that have taken them weeks and months to obtain is always going to be more enjoyable than watching a bunch of B graders kick a football around in the hope it might go into a net by chance or receive a misplaced kick and runaway to score. I'll take skill over chance any day. Sooner or later the rest of the world will catch up to the All Blacks, like they have before. Video analysis and hard yards is all it takes. The All Blacks should get beaten before they reach 40 straight games. Everyone has a bad day sooner of later.Rout wrote:This is what makes Rugby such an unwatchable sport for me.
