Or maybe both.
So you are looking forward to a dead rubber with very little riding on it?ssjsa wrote:Looking forward to Uruguay vs Russia later today.
Should be a good match.
For me the last group matches are where the World Cup really starts.
It is far from a dead rubber. Decides the winner of the group and maintains the momentum of an unbeaten team.Ginge wrote:So you are looking forward to a dead rubber with very little riding on it?ssjsa wrote:Looking forward to Uruguay vs Russia later today.

Well they are both going to get either Spain and Portugal barring some miracle and they won't know what order so won't know if it will be beneficial to lose the match or not.ssjsa wrote:It is far from a dead rubber. That being said, we will not know if it is better to finish 2nd until after tonight's matches.
I haven't looked at the schedule but I recall in previous world cups that the better stadiums/times etc are based on the host team winning the group. Might not be the case this time if they expected them to lose!!Ginge wrote:Well they are both going to get either Spain and Portugal barring some miracle and they won't know what order so won't know if it will be beneficial to lose the match or not.ssjsa wrote:It is far from a dead rubber. So can't imagine it being a great match to be honest.
Thought it was a good match, well worth watching.Ginge wrote:Well they are both going to get either Spain and Portugal barring some miracle and they won't know what order so won't know if it will be beneficial to lose the match or not.ssjsa wrote:It is far from a dead rubber. that has to be to the most bitter and twisted comment so far about the world Cup from a Scostman. Just so wrong in every wayssjsa wrote: Win or lose those jammy bastards England look to have an easy tie to reach the quarters.
God we hope you don't get to the final or win it, it's unbearable now so imagine what another win would do.Skewball wrote:that has to be to the most bitter and twisted comment so far about the world Cup from a Scostman. All the people I talk to a quite level headed about England's chances. Personally I just love the chance of being in these games. The level of excitement before and during a big England game is like nothing else. And of course we should dream the dream, why not. No team has been outstanding at the WOrld Cup and every game from here on in I think is a 50:50 whoever the opposition. We look for like the team we were from 1986-2006 - very tough to beat but without the real creative players who can unlock a good defence. I fully expect extra time and/or penalties in our knock games! (A bit like 1990- Extra time vs Belgium and extra time vs Camaroon)nikkiboy wrote:God we hope you don't get to the final or win it, it's unbearable now so imagine what another win would do.Skewball wrote:that has to be to the most bitter and twisted comment so far about the world Cup from a Scostman.
