What bits don't you understand?

Whoever gets around in the shortest time wins.

So does the guy leading at halfway never win, mountain stages, sprint stages all confuse the hell out of me as I was built for comfort not speed.

??

it really is very easy!

And what nonsense about guy leading at half way never wins, nonsense.
Some stages suit different types of cycling, not tricky. Bit like a decathlon.

Yes there is a prize each day for the daily winner but they add all the times up and the winner of the whole thing is the one who has the lowest aggregate time.

This isn't difficult stuff ffs.

Cyclists belong to trade teams usually sponsored by companies. Each team entets 8 into the event (used to be 9). They will usually ride to ensure their top man wins a stage and/or the whole thing.

Hence why Sky having Thomas at the top of the overall standings is an interesting one as Froome is 2nd in the overall standings and the intention going into the event would have been to help Froome win it again.

Race been stopped after farmer's protest. Gendarmerie used tear gas and some of it blew back into the riders direction.
