With Froome and Dum out it's certainly the most open in years. I think Bernal's bit young and inexperienced to take it and G will crack on one of those many above 2000m climbs. I'll go with the french (Bardet or Pinot) to finally get it.

Alaphilippe reminded me of Pantani in 1998 today.

A guy with no TT pedigree suddenly beating the best contre le montre boys in cycling by a margin.

Then did the big wheel slide at the end and a massive celebration whilst hardly even blowing.
He should have been utterly spent but was still fresh.

Dubious as hell.

UK. Might be 15 minutes later as start was delayed.

Any luck?

If yesterday was a joke, today was bigger. Worse than Pantani in 98 - at least he was a pure climber.

Alaphilippe is taking the piss.

The best job in the tour. Turning cock graffiti into spaceships and owls.

Already live on ITV4. Whole field getting stretched out by early attacks.

Just done first climb, Cat 2.
3 Cat 1s to come in the Pyrenees.
