Watched the first show from the new Top Gear last night, oh dear, what a shambles! Chris Evans is no Clarkson, in fact you are left wondering if he actually knows how to drive a car! He certainly can't host a car show. And who's idea was it to have that drop kick Gordon Ramsey as the first guest...what were the producers thinking!!!!

Marks out of 10, I give it 2.
They have got a lot of work to do before they get anywhere close to the original. I almost fell asleep.

To many presenters with no chemistry, Evans trying to do a Clarkson badly, the rally cross was a poor attempt to change things, shocking guests discussion (who had the best 1st car FFS). Watched episode 1, skimmed through 2 then gave up.

Beeb are stuck, they cant bin the show as its a cash cow and are lacking direction with it.

It was a great show, well entertaining most of the time if you had nothing better to do except watch TV. You're right Evans just seemed forced and all he did seemed unnatural, unlike Clarkson who had the gift to talk about a subject he obviously was one with and had complete personal knowledge of what was good and what was not, althou we would all disagree on a few of his opinions no doubt. But, that's the nature of the program.

I also found the Clarkson, May and Hammond chemistry natural. With Evans it looked forced with Le Blanc, it seemed like Evans was the boss and the others best follow suit.

From the bits I seen early on I would keep Le Blanc, Schmitz and one other but would prefer Jenson Button who is a natural in front of camera.
