Last movies I saw at the cinema was Avatar and I thought that was excellent.

Watched the Flying Scotsman on channel 4 last week and that was awesome. Its about Graeme Obree, who is a scottish cyclist who acheived great things despite many many devastating setbacks. Johnny Lee Miller plays Obree.

Fave films are 1st 3 American pies, Green Street, American History X and The Green Mile.
Growing up I Loved, Stand by me.

I am old!! Love some of the Classics, The Hustler, Casablanca, Star Wars original 3, First three Star Trek Films then they went pear shaped, Top Gun obviously, Many Tom Cruise ones.

The Departed and Bruno.

Zillions of other I like but would pick out;

The Hannibal Lecter films.

Clint's spaghetti western trilogy.

Gangster films - Scarface, Goodfellas, Casino

Finally the coolest of them all Heat.

Name (classic) movies you dont like.

Citizen Kane. It may have been ground breaking technically but it is sooooooooo dull! I was daft enough to buy it on DVD because i had heard it is often cited as the greatest film ever made. I gave it two viewings in case i missed something but i didn't, it was rubbish both times.

If you are sick of typical Hollywood (or just as an alternative) - Asian cinema offers some of the best films ever made imo.
But it gets ugly if Hollywood goes for a remake.
Not all - The Departed was a good one.

The Grudge, The Eye, Shutter, The Ring, Eight Below, Mirrors, Bangkok Dangerous, Dark Water, One missed Call, Tortilla Soup, Pulse, Shall we Dance, The Lake House, My Sassy girl, A tale of two sisters ...

Seven Samurais - the Magnificent Seven (also a good one)

Not sure how I'm going to find it as I have felt that the last four were a big let down to the fantastic first in the series.

I have always watched Asian cinema, if I get the time I will jot down some of my favourites. 'Infernal Affair' trilogy is another defo one to try, John Woo's early films. Plus of course the classic Ong Bak - the best martial arts film of the last 15 years.
Seen some dross as well though. I have never got the Asian sense of humour in films.

Anyone a fan of director Rob Zombie.???

'House of a 1,000 corpses' is about as good as it gets and the sequel 'The Devils Rejects' is also a must see movie. I thought his version of 'Halloween' was ok, maybe a 7/10. Still waiting to see the sequel.

Back to 'The Ring' as mentioned by slymaster. I'm one of the few movie buffs who actually thinks it's as good as the original.
