Anybody going to bother with the latest slasher remake.???

Read that Robert Englund was very put out that he wasn't approached to star in the re-make.

Can't see why he was put out, the franchise died a death. Not a fan of all these remakes and rehash movies myself

Me neither really, but still get suckered into going along to see them.

Did think the 'Texas chainsaw massacre' remakes were top notch though. 'Texas chainsaw massacre, The Beginning' was every bit as good as the original chainsaw IMO.

I'm far from a film "buff", in fact I find it difficult to sit in a cinema for 2 hours without getting bored. But I do watch films on TV sometimes and have a few favourites:

The Godfather Trilogy
Goodfellas
Scarface
Casino
The Power of One
Halloween I, II and IV
A Nightmare on Elm Street I-III
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Citizen Kane
The Wicker Man
Dead Man's Shoes (thanks for reminding me, Mr G. Fantastic film!)
Nightmare Vacation/Sleepaway Camp (esp I and II)
The Exorcist
Man Bites Dog
Battle Royale

Am I one of the rare film buffs who actually thinks that 'Hannibal' was better than 'Silence...'.???

Great series of 'Lecter' films though, which I would put in this order :-

Hannibal
Silence of the lambs
Manhunter
Red Dragon
Hannibal rising

It is. :D (3rd)

Definately think that William Peterson is a better Will Graham than Edward Norton, but Hopkins definately improved the Lecter character.

The part of the film where the boys are in prison and Richard Pryor starts to strut to look tough to the rest of the prisoners is one of the funniest scenes ever comitted to film. "That's right, we're bad" :D

I'm not a film buff, but I enjoyed Hannibal more than Silence.
