Just watched Avatar on DVD very good , Clint Eastwood in The Unforgiven/Pale Rider/Gran Torino and virtually all his movies , John Wayne In Tie a yellow Ribbon great western.
Heat , Godfather Trilogy , Casino , Goodfellas , and lots more.

Westerns are my favourite genre and there have been some great directors and stars over the years such as -

Anthony Mann who directed James Stewart in classics like Winchester 73, Bend of the River, The Far Country, The Naked Spur and the Man from Laramie.

Budd Boetticher directed Randolph Scott in Seven Men from Now, the Tall T, Ride Lonesome and Commanche Station.

Howard Hawks colaborated with John Wayne for Red River, Rio Bravo and El Dorado.

John Ford also struck up a famous partnership with Wayne in Stagecoach, Fort Apache, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, The Searchers and the Man who Shot Liberty Valance.

Sam Peckinpah made some brilliant westerns such as Ride the High Country, Major Dundee, the Wild Bunch and Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid.

Sergio Leone introduced us to the spaghetti western with a Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More and the Good, the Bad & the Ugly. He then followed that up with the superb Once Upon a Time in the West.

And Clint Eastwood went on to make High Plains Drifter, the Outlaw Josey Wales, Pale Rider and Unforgiven.

Watched Saw VI yesterday. Seems to be an improvement on the last few, but will watch it again with the directors commentary so I understand better what it was all about
