The unseeded Les Wallace became the second Scottish World Champion and the first ever left hander to pick up the trophy when he beat the also unseeded Marshall James of Wales 6 sets to 3 in the final.
There was nothing to split the pair in the averages but the Scot's finishing was far more accurate and was the deciding factor.
