1995's championship was sponsored by Proton Cars and the prize fund had not yet reached the heady heights of the future. Phil Taylor picked up £12k in overcoming Rod Harrington in the final, after also winning a classic semi-final against John Lowe.
This years even also sadly marked the last time we would see Jocky Wilson play in a World Championship with his last tv appearance coming in the World Matchplay later in the year.
