Skol returned in 1998 to sponsor the newly titled PDC World Championship which saw former BDO champion John Part switch codes and make his debut in the event.
This was the last year that (thankfully for me as I cannot format them for shit in this message box) the first round was played in groups of 3.
Again we had a Phil Taylor and Dennis Priestley final with the Power romping home in a 6 set whitewash, in fact Rod Harrington was the only player to take a set of Taylor in their semi-final.
