You are more than likely putting the emphasis of what you read on the word "only".
Every dart player is Independent, each player goes up there to represent himself to earn for himself, to get their own glory.
Of course Waites and Taylor as champions will feel they might have a duty as champs to represent their code to the best of their ability, but in the end every player is independent and codes dont matter.

When you see an election poster saying something like Your only politician, it dont mean he is the only politician, its to convince you he is the only one for you.
That applies here, ted is the only independent player for you.

of course you could read it that Ted is not in the pdc any longer nor in the bdo and is in a sort of limbo, but that cannot be true as limbo is for catholics.
Then again I heard the catholic church sold that to the proddies to earn some money for the child abuse payouts.
