Just carefully asking, not to offend any player involved, but wouldn't it be more honest to just have a final between No.'s 1 and 2 to at least honour the 2 best players of the day instead of letting someone below the top 2 sneak in for the kill in the end?

Format needs looking at next year. Be a lot simpler if you seeded the 8 groups - one chance and thats it.

Tell that to a Blackpool fan. And that's coming from a Forest fan.

It's a bit like the PL, No. 1 can have a landslide advantage in points because of working his butt off all season and still be knocked out of the semi's by No. 4 who eventually wins the PL.
Bit unfair for the No. 1. I know the crowds want teasers on the darts menu, but this CLOD is without crowds, so a player winning all his group matches should i.m.o. not run the risk of not even reaching the final. But hey, i'm not the architect of this CLOD construction...

Doesn't the Dutch football league have a playoff system where the team that finishes 5th can get a Champions league place over the team that finishes 2nd?

Guess you're right there Brad, but that's soccer, bad enough the team who ended up 2nd just by goal difference can still be knocked out indeed...

So there it's come from, OMG, first the soccer crowds, now soccer rules... ;)
