THE Amateur Qualifiers for the Coral UK Open
Will be held in Rileys Sports Bars

Image

THE Amateur Qualifiers for the Coral UK Open will be held in Rileys Sports Bars across the UK as players bid to win 32 places in March's Televised Finals at the Butlins Minehead Resort. The Rileys Amateur Qualifiers will give players across the nation their chance to qualify for "The FA Cup of Darts", which will see them compete alongside the sport's top professionals live on ITV4 in March. A total of 32 knockout events will be held in 30 Rileys venues across the UK, with the London Victoria and Wolverhampton clubs staging two knockouts apiece. "The Coral UK Open has found a special place in the hearts of darts fans due to its unique format, and the inclusion of Rileys Amateur Qualifiers always provides an exciting twist," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn. "The Rileys Amateur Qualifiers allow all darts players to try and win a place in a major event - as well as the chance to play the likes of Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen or Adrian Lewis on stage in Minehead! "So often we see the Amateur Qualifiers creating upsets and enjoying their dream on the big stage, and this year's Coral UK Open will be no different. We've got record competition for places amongst our Professionals and I'm sure it will be equally fierce in the Rileys Amateur Qualifiers." Entry will cost £5 per tournament and is open to players aged 16 and above on January 1 2015 who did not compete at the 2015 PDC Qualifying School. London Victoria's first knockout on Friday January 30 will be the opening event held, with Coventry and Sheffield hosting qualifiers on Saturday January 31. Wolverhampton's opening qualifier will follow on Saturday February 7 before the Liverpool and Twickenham clubs host their knockouts on Saturday February 14 and London Victoria, Northampton and South Benfleet stage qualifiers on Sunday February 15. Nine venues will stage knockouts on Saturday February 21, at the Rileys clubs in Brighton, Burton-on-Trent, Gillingham, Harlow, Lincoln, Newport, Norwich, Stirling and Wolverhampton. A further five qualifiers will be held on Sunday February 22, in Bootle, Greenock, Leicester, Oxford and Solihull, before the remaining events take place the following weekend. Aberdeen, Chester, Chorlton, Colchester, Ipswich, Nottingham, Southampton and Worcester will host knockouts on Saturday February 28, with Reading hosting the final qualifier on Sunday March 1.

Paul Butler (one of the Pro Tour markers) is running the Victoria ones.

Pete Hudson won the Sheffield Rileys Uk Open Qualifier on Saturday and must say he did so in very impressive fashion.

No worries. Me and my pals might come to your knockout if the numbers remain lowish. We can play the percentages then. I'll ask you how many you got again sometime next week on facebook. All the best Chilli
