what does that mean? they will go after his customers as in recouping money or just to warn them?

I do wonder how much money he actually made on this. 18 months seems harsh unless it was a bigger 'business' than we (or I anyway) think.

They may have copied them themselves and sold them on or distributed them in some other way ie uploaded to youtube etc in which case Sky will seek to recover damages from those parties.

It will be based no so much on what he 'made' but on what the loss is to Sky for example he may have sold 2000 discs @ £4 a pop over 4 years so 'made' about £40 a week but Sky will base it on every individual clip on the DVD's so the 2000 discs could easy be 10000 different events which they would judge at the full commercial value of around £20 if it has been released on DVD or the cost of licencing it from Sky which would be in the possible 100-1000's value per clip so could well be into a loss to Sky of millions !

Wow that is a big sentence, presuming that he had no previous convictions for the same I suppose it shows how serious they are getting about copyright theft, especially when it's big business that is involved.

Did it in full view, with a website, Twitter, pushed it on FB, forums. I dont have much sympathy for him to be honest.

I suppose when you look at it like that but it seems a long time to me for a non violent crime.

I hear the BDO put in a complaint that more people watched the 2018 WDT final on one of his DVDs that watched it in the venue and live on TV.
