Hole in the ground...

If the oil companies are extracting 80 million barrels of oil out of the ground every month, there must be one hell of a big hole under us. The earths oceans are not getting any lower, so what happens when the ground cannot support itself?

As the ice caps melt the extra water will seep into the voids preventing the sea level from rising....convenient yes?
