Sorry to hear that, hope you get better soon.

Its only an over reaction if it doesn't get worse. But assuming it does then protecting the vulnerable in our society is the right thing to do, that's what any contingency plans are for.
For now just heed the advice given but carry on as normal, nothing more to it, I dont why people go to one extreme or the other.
