I lost to Dunscombe last night :?
No disgrace in that mate, heard he beat one of the top guys in the area last week in the singles :D we beat the riverside, went down to the 3s.
We done the Waldegrave 7-0 we didn't bother with the threes.

Good for you.

What were the chances of two canadians getting drawn together.

Board 7 could be tough for Winstanley, based on yesterday's results.

41,820 to 1 (I think?)

Easy opener for Mace.

polarbear70 wrote:What do we think will be the kind of point total needed to get to the last 20 qualifying places.
As the 4 automatic places are not accruing points I think a 9 and a mid level point score could be enough.
A 9 and a 5 should be definitely good.
One of the stats gurus (not sure if ACF or sly) mentioned on yesterday's thread that 11 points would have been enough if last year's events had run by this year's rules. I suspect 12 will look very good in the end.

One thing to keep in mind is that the automatic card winners of the next three days could well be players who already amassed high points totals on their previous days, e.g. one of the 9-pointers from yesterday could be removing himself from a high position in the table, which would be better news for everybody else than if the next card winners are players who don't have many points yet. (In other words, other players should be rooting for the Jeff Smiths rather than the Dean Winstanleys of Day 1.)

Good luck to Martino Tagliapietra, yesterday he won 6-5 against Ross Smith, today at the first round he plays Gareth Cousins.

Viva l'Italia!!!
