The talk was that the World Series would grow following the Dubai Masters, should that be a success. And it seemed to be.

What ever this announceemnt may entail I hope it is ranking at the very least. Could do Euro stlye events around the world either 64 or 32 man fields. At least the PDC have markets to go into, North America seems to be back on the cards with the success of the regional tour. Wasnt there some sort of talk of Darts commentators in the USA a month or so back?

ranking events in Asia or Australia would be pretty expensive so my guess would initially be a Dubai style event for 8 players to test the water and get a foothold..
If they went down the ranking route then they would follow the snooker way of having the qualifiers in England to finalise the field actually flying over for the event.....but i would guess that is down the line yet and we will see a Dubai style mini tournament somewhere at present

Isnt that done already for the Euro Events. If say an event in New York, youd have either a 64 or 32 man field......so 32/16 players from Pro Tour OOM then 20/10 players from a PDPA Qualifier in the UK/Europe. Take the top 4/2 from the North American Pro Tour and then 8/4 from an Open qualifer the day before the main event at host venue.
