Maybe missed the boat in my opinion like someone else I tried to get to go.

BUT all is not lost form what I have been told. Could be interesting come November/December time. If things progress needs ALL women to back thinga that happen

Is that something the pdc are thinking about tony?

I think Deta and Ana and a few others could easy pick up a few quid on the challenge tour and the odd win on the main tour.

But why would they switch? They're already playing in tournaments whose prize funds are often heavily subsidized. ;)

Get over your digs at anything this side of the fence ! Deta didn't go to Germany for the money! More maybe to prove a point, 16 ranking titles world cup and winmau winner .

Of course it is, and that was exactly my point, which you apparently failed to see through all that froth... Let's try it again with less subtlety: After the less than stellar exploits by Deta and Ana in the past, why would any women switch to the PDC now when they already have one of the best aspects of the PDC system (prize funds >>> total entry fees) right here under the WDF/BDO umbrella and they don't even need to play the men to get at it?

Nothing short of a dedicated PDC women's tour ought to do it, something I'd consider a pretty nutty idea, but then again it would require a relatively small cash outlay for the PDC, and hold the potential to wreak a lot of havoc on the WDF/BDO side. (Might be worth it for that alone.) And I'd probably enjoy seeing them try to run a women's tour - as a social experiment, if nothing else. What are the odds that the participation numbers for a women's circuit done exactly like the Youth Tour (£25 entry fee, £5k prize money) would fall short of the youth?

On the upside, I guess that would allow the PDC to pair up the Challenge Tour with the Pro Tour, and the Youth Tour with a women's tour. I can already imagine the complaints about the women being relegated to third-tier equivalent status, though...

Subsidised maybe, heavily subsidised no.

You are basing your comment purely on entry money, but many venues, especially in the UK you have to be resident this helps either keeping the cost of the venue down or with additional prize funds. The women pay the same as the men for their accommodation, the same price as the men for food and drink. If you were to stop having a women`s event because it is `heavily` subsidised then just watch the men`s prize money fall, not grow. There are many people who travel with their wives or daughters or girlfriends etc. They also use accommodation and drink and eat.

I know first hand of one organisation who used to have a separate ladies ranking, about once a month there would be up to 150 men and around 20 women. They decided the women`s wasn`t worth it so they stopped it and now they get around 50 men. It started off with fewer men because their wives or whoever weren`t going to play so they didn`t go either, because they weren`t going their mates didn`t go as they used to travel in one car or just saw it as a day with their mates playing darts. Because the number of men dropped the prize money had to go down, because the prize money went down even fewer men entered and so the vicious circle went on.
