Durrant Parts With Mac

Post by Booji Boy »

Off to the Dutch Open for the first time in 7 years with a heavy heart. My decision of staying with the BDO and keeping my promise that Susan is the priority moving forward means I have parted company with the Best Manager and the man that changed my darting life Mac Elkin.

Susan is going to look after my affairs now and has made things clear:-

1. No more giving darts and shirts away
2. Reduced exhibitions at the right price - No working for a cheap rate
3. Come off Facebook and back on the practice board

I just want to take this opportunity to thank Mac and the team - What a ride - BDO number 1 / 23 BDO Opens / 2 x Finders / 2 x World Masters and 2 BDO World titles

I have been sad the past few days after informing him

Love you Boss and good luck for the future and with Corey Cadby and Dimitri Van den Bergh at such a young age you will guide them and make them millionaires and champions

Wouldn't have stayed with the BDO if I was him, but there you are.
This is a sacrifice of his own volition, pointless crying over it.

he is effectively putting himself into semi retirement/part time status as a dart player when he could have made a million quid over the next 2-3 years in the PDC.
Ho hum, each to their own. He's not getting any younger I suppose. But just daft when he was prepared to do Q School if it wasn't for the contract. Why he let 'fate' decide (his own words) will always be a mystery to me. Staying in eth BDO is no mystery- each to their own - but letting fate decide??! nah, not for me.

Do the BDO deserve him? no.

I'm a massive fan of Glen, known him a fair few years now and I'm gutted that he's not going to play PDC, just hope he doesn't regret it in the future and the BDO keep up their end of the bargain in them pathetic contracts

:DDD: :DDD:

When have they ever done this successfully ffs.

A few years ago they had two very marketable World Champions and they did absolutele fek all.

Think the only time they ever did any promotion of their champions was when it was Adams and Trina, and attempted a nationwide exbo tour which was cancelled before a single dart was thrown due to poor ticket sales.

we have talked about it before, and folks know it's his life, his choices. Or is it? Without the threat of the money being withheld, without the contracts what would he have decided?

Wish him all the best and who knows what he will think in the future but is it just me that kind of gets the feeling he, already deep down, is regretting his decisions?

At least we know Lakeside will be televised (absolute cert) and that the prizefund is at least the same for next year but what will the rest of the BDO look like? Guess we will have to wait and see what happens at, and after, the EGM.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Mac had flirted Glen I know they wanted him to move to the pdc for the last few years.

Only logistically, Glen has never been pressured.

I thought the man that changed his darting life was the one that wrote the BDO contract.
