Wheres Ronnie Baxter

Post by Robson »

One of my favourite shooters - Best player to never win a World title - Whats he doing these days - Any chance of a comeback in the BDO or PDC -

About to go out for the night will do it tomorrow when I can think about it properly but would certainly put Jenkins, Wade and Whitcombe above him from the top of my head.

Sure, genuinely interested!

Whitcombe did win two World Masters and Wade has won many majors.

Jenkins a better player than Baxter? Not sure myself but both did seem not to be able to win a major although Jenkins never got to a world final.

Mike Gregory definitely although did win the British Pro.

Peter Wright still got a chance!

Big Cliff indeed although did win a couple of tv events.

Tony O’Shea for me one of the best never to win the world title or even a major.

Mike Gregory ; Alan Evans , possibly Peter Wright, then as you say Wade but not sure about Witcombe. He got to two finals Baxter so maybe 5th or 6th.

Can’t really include Peter Wright given he’s still an active player unless he’s being written off already??

Mike also won the first couple of PDC (then WDC) events......before his famous return to BDO.

Best player never to have won the world title has to be Whitlock

As he's the only person to have lost on both sides of the divide without ever being World Champion

There won under the equal darts rule the WDC had then so it's not really a true reflection of a normal 'tournament' win

It's better than a normal tournament win as each player actually has an equal chance in each match.

...before he realised that with a young family and a new mortgage that he needed the regular income of exbo's and more tournaments/opens.....

That's the historical accuracy, nothing more nothing less.
