PDC 2nd attempt at Ladies darts.

Post by ChrisW »

So the Ladies will be allowed to have two places in the WC.
Is it a long term thing? Or a dabble like last time?

I guess the answer to that is entirely in the 'Ladies' court

If they do their usual of bitching, moaning and expecting preferential treatment for their participation then it will a one year experiment never to be repeated.

If they firmly embrace the fantastic opportunity that has been offered to them by a more than generous PDC then hopefully it will be the start of greater things to come.

Chuck in a pair of Jacklins and really what possibly can go wrong ?

Chris, they let a 16 year old (Jackson Page) play in at least two bookie sponsored snooker events last season, both were televised and at least one of his matches was on a TV table

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_Welsh_Open_(snooker)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_Nort ... eland_Open

There are ways around everything.

I'm sure Paula Jacklin will be entering the qualifier for this.
I mean, she's been demanding equal prize money with the men for a while now, and Barry has just offered it to her. How can she refuse?

This is not an attempt at ladies darts......... just a token gesture to add some interest. The women are being used as pawns and should refuse the two spots until the PDC offer a real long term solution for women dart players.

They should take the chance to prove the PDC that they are not just a marketing ploy.

Can't go any worse than the first attempt. If Ana had won they would still be doing it.

i applaud the inclusion of women in the ally pally set up however i question motive, as usual bh has played a decent hand, this year man utd announce a womens soccer team, then its equal pay at auntie beeb, now hearn has jumped on the very fashionable passing bandwagon to promote his product, what i would say is this, theres a lot of dross first 2 weeks at ally pally, why not fire 10 men off put 10 women in still start with 96 players then there a fair ish percentage of the players are women, bh a good marketing man but why only 2 when he could have done so much more so easily, just 2 women v 94 men is a token jesture to pacify the all inclusive fashion of the moment, my view only

Well let's be honest here, Lisa, deta, Anna, Lorraine, Fallon and Trina would most probably beat most of the old prelim qualifiers from around the world so there's six (more) deserving places right there.

I dont think they would, tbh. The prelim players arent all as bad as they used to be.

But they would have a good chance and that makes interesting viewing.
Remember this.

A deciding leg win in a BO9 match 8.5 years ago is the best example you can cite? :D

Ally Pally stage, best of 5 sets. Totally different situation IMO.

I agree best of 5 sets makes more tricky if was best of 3 sets I could see an upsets but I could see if Lisa played it a game could be closer if got an overseas player could be a win against a top pro tour qualifier might be harder
