Freesports in trouble with OFCOM again

Post by Ginge »

Only weeks after a slap on the wrist for not keeping recordings....

https://www.ofcom.org.uk/__data/assets/ ... lletin.pdf (page 11)

...and a previous b*llocking in March for showing too many adverts...

https://www.ofcom.org.uk/__data/assets/ ... lletin.pdf (page 11)

...they now get another for showing too many adverts again :DDD:

https://www.ofcom.org.uk/__data/assets/ ... lletin.pdf (page 43)

Is this really the type of channel the EDO and BDO want to do business with? :fishing :WWWW:

So they're not in trouble and are just going to have a chat with one of their team?

No, they have been found in breach of OFCOM rules, hence why its in the section "In Breach" on all three occasions. Sadly they never tell you the punishment which will likely be a monetary one.

Sound a ramshackle outfit to be making the same mistakes again though.

"In light of these concerns, we are requesting that the Licensee attends a meeting to discuss its approach to compliance in this area."

Sure the chat will be amicable.

Three breaches in a few months. Tut tut.

I am a regular reader of the OFCOM fortnightly Bulletins and I dont recall any other broadcast being breached as much since the start of the year. What a ramshackle operation they truly are. Why any self respecting sporting body would want to be associated with them, I have no idea.

I'm sure the minor indiscretions will be ironed out when they have a quick conversation as per the Decision.

They only do that when a fine is issued.

I see.

Still, three breaches in four months. Pathetic and dire.

Just to play devils advocate, what has 3 Ofcom breaches got to do with a darts forum?

I’m sure they’ve all been very naughty boys and will get sent for crucifixion.

Hope this helps.

But this is of no concern to the BDO. If they get taken off the air maybe, but I can’t exactly see that happening.

Depends if a self respecting darts organisation want to be associated with what is clearly a tinpot operation who can't stick to the rules.
