20 Years Darts - Stories from Behind the scenes - Book review

Post by ChrisW »

Shame this book is only available in Dutch (at the moment)
But just starting reading it and would recommend it highly.
Just published this month.

Chapter 2 a great story about Arjan being sent to cover Barney at the Lakeside in 1998 with a cameraman.
He was approached by a suit from the BBC if SBS6 would like to use the BBC feed for the Tournament for 5K.
The next day they drove back and it eventually was agreed they would show the rest of the tournament on SBS6.

Chapter 3
So they paid 5000 for the semis and Final in 1998.
Not known the figure for the whole tournament in 1999
But it was 6 figures.
It was a nice carrot from the BBC guy.

Think I might be in trouble if I did that.

Only joking pal, we'll still be your friends even after we've left the United States of Europe.

On another matter, don't you just hate it when you put a film on Netflix and only then find out it's in Johnny Foreigner language? :angry5:

This book just gets better and better. Potter throwing out the SBS6 team in 2001. Only to be told to let them back in by the BBC.
