Interview with Durrant. Suggesting he will do Q School, unless he wins Lakeside and BDO threaten to withhold his 100k.

He seems to be happy for the BDO coin, he's BDO-gay for pay.

Given this years farce with Lakeside then who could blame him or anyone else for having a crack at it

Just looked at the press release when they lifted restrictions and think Durrant will be fine if he wins.

“These changes will also demonstrate that players will no longer face any penalties relating to entry and participation at the PDC Q-School.”

I mean I didn’t even get his bdo for life quote

A week later he said in an interview that he didn’t want to play in as many tournaments and would start to pick and choose what he was doing more, he didn’t have any intention of being a proper bdo points chaser he just knew he could get away with the majors and the cat as from now on.

Think he regrets the quote and the fact he made that quarter final match so personal about his future. He really needs to make his mind up now what he’s doing before he goes to the worlds so everyone knows where he stands.

Glen Durrant
@Duzza180

This interview was before the news today that BDO has secured a 3 year deal with Eurosport.

Entry and participation. As he said in the (very frank) interview, nothing about what would happen if he took a tour card.

With this announcement about the 3 year deal it gives the likes of waites and Mitchell etc an excuse not go q school like they say every year exciting times ahead in the BDO.

It gives those with no ambition to continue in obscurity and in years to come wondering what they could have achieved.

Waites said he’s going, think he’s been talking to Barry as he said it during the fish competition. He’s the one I’d actually be excited about as I think a year on the tour and he could do some damage.

Can’t see Mitchel ever going and I don’t think he really cares

Duzza has his yearly excuse, if he doesn’t go after this year I don’t think he ever will

To be fair when he said that quote it was in a live tv interview and without knowing changes would be coming albeit months later.

He has also said before in an interview how travelling the BDO circuit is tough but playing in Barnsley and Wigan would be more appealing.

Only time will tell if that'll make any difference - depends on the individual players viewpoint. If there is freedom to go straight back into BDO events then it's probably still worth attempting QSchool but we shall see...
