Interesting the first line “The finest players in the BDO travel to the Bridlington Spa this week to compete in the 45th Winmau World Masters and World Professional Qualifiers.”
Haven’t previous years said finest players in the world??

Re: Achievements of the New BDO Board
It’s been that type of quote for years
TSOD World Grand Prix Prediction winner 2017.
"Who gives a shit" - Borespark about every Darts event since 2021

Re: Achievements of the New BDO Board
Ian Flack must have had a grin on his face when he typed his "quote".

Re: Achievements of the New BDO Board
The continued spamming of the Turdish (not a typo) Open is quite an achievement given all the other things the new board should be busy doing

Here’s the 2016 press release:

Indeed - I can't remember the last time a press release with BDO information went out without a mistake - Winmau really don't need to come out in sympathy!
Re: Achievements of the New BDO Board
Right, been thinking about this a little and it's obvious that the BDO have lost TV coverage for the world pro as well, would it be worth the BDO creating an app for iphone, Android, Windows and also compatible with smart TVs?Ginge wrote:1 - losing TV coverage of the Masters

Bear with me Ginge....
We all of us have smart phones these days and most of us have either Roku, Amazon Fire stick, Now TV or a smart TV with apps. In theory if they create a 'BDO TV' app we can watch it live on our phones or on the TV, the BDO then sell advertising slots which are broadcast through the app.

Will be on their YouTube channel which can be watched on all of those devices anyway.
Oh, and come on! bit like that guy on Twitter who said the BDO should start their own TV channel.

Re: Achievements of the New BDO Board
Just stick it on YouTube, they already have enough videos and views to be a partner which will give them advertising revenue and payment for live feeds if they apply for it (which I guarantee they won’t have)nikkiboy wrote:Right, been thinking about this a little and it's obvious that the BDO have lost TV coverage for the world pro as well, would it be worth the BDO creating an app for iphone, Android, Windows and also compatible with smart TVs?Ginge wrote:1 - losing TV coverage of the Masters

They could even spin it that they are going digital and it’s available to everyone in the world for free, would be a massive step down but with proper advertising and promotion they could make good and even get some money back....... I can’t see them putting the time in to do it though
Re: Achievements of the New BDO Board
I'm being serious here, couple it with youtube as well but there will be at least 10,000 downloads on the first day and that's just the fanatics.Ginge wrote:Will be on their YouTube channel which can be watched on all of those devices anyway.

Not looked into how these things work but it's a fact that no TV station wants it and no sponsor wants to pay for it so in order to maintain a future which includes cameras the BDO need to do something radical, yes it may cost £25k - £50k to develop the app and get it rated on the app stores but couple it with a darts game and a dart scoring app (maybe even in associating with a betting company) in one and they could possibly find a new medium for BDO darts.
