Not against each other in the first round, though.

You must admit it is truly a masterstroke to move this event from the Turkish mainland to a disputed territory you cant get a direct flight to except from a handful of Turkish cities.

Archbishop Makarios was right.

Oche, Archbishop Makarios was a Cypriot president and clergyman.

That, and people thinking it is a warzone (which it isnt, by all accounts it is rather lovely) will no doubt put people off.

I'm sure the all-inclusive deal on local beers and spirits will entice a few :)

It’s still not possible to fly direct from the UK right? You have to connect in Istanbul or another Turkish hub?

If organised it's quite easy to get across the border. They will be able to organise coach transfers to get through.
I went over the border on a coach trip 2 years ago, it's relatively easy these days.

So yes , fly to southern Cyprus from any airport

Aye I am guessing they will be pushing that method of getting to the North so they can cream a bit off the coach transfer ;)

I can't remember there being many big hotels though North of the Border, but maybe that has recently changed
