Must be some shelving that needs doing, maybe somewhere like Slaithwaite or Hebden Bridge.

Or something.

Always an excellent event - assume the local tv station will be providing the live stream again??

What I like about DFW is it never seems to pitch 2 players from the same country against each other in the 1st rounds at a few of these events :DDDD:

Good spot. Looks like a void draw to me then if they have done that, same as the Turkish ones the other year were....

Won't they also have to do it because one of the seeds has withdrawn?

No idea. But if they have purposely kept countries apart then it isnt a proper draw. This really should be clarified in the BDO tournament rules, organisers are evidently doing it thinking its doing the players a favour.

dodgy as Fuck. Way too many entrants to be a coincidence, once again the odds of it happening are daft. Something has to be going on with the software, it just does not feel right.

Wasnt it determined last time that when doing a normal draw in DfW there actually isnt a button to keep separate countries (or counties) apart, and this is only a feature of doing special draws like the Gold Cup/World Cup ones?

yes, but it was never established whether you could use that 'special feature' in a normal draw. I can't get too excited as I'm not in these draws but personally I think it does need looking at, it feels a little Hhhh.

Still, lets see what Paul makes of this thread when he reports back to our FB arm of TSOD. I can almost write his post for him....

No no no. Do none of you remember this from last time?

It was proven conclusively that no players of the same nationality being drawn against each other, in repeated draws, for fields of over 1000 was perfectly normal. It is just as statistically likely (if not more likely) as two unspecified players being drawn against each other more than once in multiple draws for fields of 128.

Rout and IFM proved it using statistical probability theory, quadratic equations, a set of digital calipers, guesswork, and making it up as they went along.

Nothing to see here.

It was good fun watching them trying to defend it.
