Wise words from the BDO's Karl Dönitz.

My eyes.

1) Ladies prize money being "addressed"- no conflict of interest there, no sirree.

2) "Runaway success"- gave away a boatload of free tickets, still couldn't get near filling the place.

3) "The biggest decision was made by me" - dear lord.

4) "Social media going into overdrive on day 1" - Paula made a lovely sign

5) Des is short for Desmond. Not bloody Derek.

He must have some massive news up his sleeve here. My guess is O'Shea and Mitchell know about it and that is why they are staying.

1) it does need addressing whether theirs interest there or not
2) The place was filled for majority of the day (Apart from the 2 days we was there)
3) He has an ego but if he improves the BDO then fair play, I'm no fan of his remember
4) Social Media improved for the BDO. its a good start, more work needs to be done
5) Drupid sums you up

Your second point is ridiculous. On the Monday and the Thursday there were rows and rows of empty seats and the same was true on the first Sunday. You are choosing not to see it.

Addicksfan even went and counted all the sales and told you it was nowhere near sold out ffs.

That ship has sailed, Desmond.
That lack of reality is what will drive the BDO further down.

2,350 in its usual theatre style configuration, obviously it won't be that for a darts event. Or it shouldn't be theatre style, anyway.

They could have played the WDT final in a hospital theatre and there would have been room for more spectators than turned up.
I can only see the crowd numbers falling big time once they move it from Lakeside.
Maybe the "venue announcements" in Feb will clear that up.

Might be a bit of a setback this week when his 6 best players leave.

Women's prize money does not need addressing. It's based on supply and demand.

There is little demand from the general viewing public, and the low entry numbers even in the bigger BDO comps (which drive the general prize money levels) are pitiful compared to the mens. In fact I've heard that men's comps often subsidise women's prize money at the same events.

Interesting how he claimed everything HAD to be dealt with by Sportotal or they would get sued when it was all up in the air.

Now he's claiming it was all him. Odd.
