If they bomb out early and get £3k it could be considered a bit unfair I guess. If they go far in the tournament then you have to say they've earned every pennySi Robin wrote: ↑Sat Jan 19, 2019 9:27 am It could be £110k though, so I kind of see Murphio's point.
That being said, it's only "unfair" to those who had a tourcard in 2018. There was nothing stopping any of the new tourcard holders from attempting to qualify for Lakeside (Jamie Hughes aside of course).

Re: 2019 Q-School
It seems pretty similar to the likes of Hughes and Menzies last year, good on the bdo tour but nowhere near consistent enough to get through qschoolphil davies wrote:Waites let’s be honest has been utter shite at q school. I don’t think his attitude is professional enough to take q school seriously.
Hopefully Durrant can actually come through today would be good to see how he does after two years on the tour.
I wonder if he’s up to it whether a year on the challenge tour will do him good

Maybe but this environment is completely different to say the Dutch Open or British Open - Waites would be seeded at these events, here he’s running into very good players in early rounds. Plus everyone he plays will raise their game because of who Waites is. Yesterday he only lost 5-4 and Lee Evans was on a 9 darter in the decider!
I wouldn’t say he’s been as Phil has described, he’s won a few matches and had a couple of 90 averages. We all know Waites is a laid back guy, he’s got nothing to lose by going to Q-School as he’s already at Lakeside next year and is free to play his darts where he chooses if he doesn’t get a card!
